Anti-Wrinkle Injections (Botox)

At Hannah Clune Aesthetics, anti-wrinkle injections (commonly known as Botox) are used to soften lines and restore a more refreshed, relaxed appearance — while maintaining natural expression.

Based in Barnstaple, North Devon, all treatments are carried out by an experienced Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber, with a strong focus on safety, precision, and subtle, natural results.

This is not about looking different — it’s about looking like yourself, just more rested and refreshed.

About the treatment

  • Botulinum toxin works by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles.

By reducing the movement that causes lines and wrinkles to form, the skin is able to smooth and soften. Over time, this can also help prevent deeper lines from developing.

The result is a softer, more relaxed appearance — without looking frozen or overdone.

  • Results are tailored to each individual, with a focus on natural, subtle improvements.

The aim is not to change how you look, but to help you look more refreshed, rested, and confident.

Full results are typically seen within 7 to 14 days.

  • Results usually last around 3 to 4 months, although this can vary between individuals.

Factors such as metabolism, muscle strength, lifestyle, and treatment area can all influence how long results last.

Ongoing treatments are required to maintain results.

  • Botulinum toxin is gradually broken down and cleared by the body through natural processes.

    • The active toxin is taken up by nerve endings within the first few days
    • It is typically broken down within 1 to 2 weeks
    • Its effect lasts longer as it temporarily blocks communication between the nerve and muscle

As the body repairs these nerve connections, muscle movement gradually returns and the treatment wears off.

Botulinum toxin does not remain permanently in the body.

  • Suitability will be fully assessed during your consultation.

If you are unsure which treatment is right for you, a consultation is recommended to discuss your concerns and create a personalised treatment plan.
